Choral Evensong |
Festal Choral Evensong for the opening of the 2014 Hither Green Festival WeekSung by the Hither Green Community Choir Directed by Phillip Bell and joined by the Cats Choir – Directed by Mairead Sheerin.The beautiful ancient service of Choral Evensong with music from the plainsong of the Monks through to Handel, Vaughan Williams and the popular Cambridge composer John Rutter.The service includes the regal setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in D minor by Thomas Attwood Walmisley, celebrating his 200th birthday this year!Enjoy the beauty of St Swithuns church with centuries of wonderful religious music.
