The Hither Green Drone Orchestra is an ensemble of largely local musicians interested in experimental music, they first came together for the Hither Green Festival in 2017. A “drone” is a long sustained tone or sound, creating a gradually changing sound environment. This year the Drone Orchestra will perform two pieces by contemporary composers: Pauline Oliveros- ‘Horse Sings From Cloud’ and John White- ‘The Drinking and Hooting Machine’. John White, now in his 80s, is expected to attend.
Sound sculptures will also be present in the park and the community room next to the café.
