Hither Green Station- Tree Planting Day

Sunday 6 March, 11am – 1pm

Meet at the Platform 1 entrance to Hither Green Station on Springbank Road.

We are lucky to have acres of woodland in the middle of our town centre.  The woods surrounding the 6 platforms of our train station are home to birds, bats and hedgehogs as well as inverbrates and flying insects. Badgers and deer have been seen scuttling along the train lines after dark!

This will be our 6th winter planting trees on the Hither Green Station embankments.  The aim of the project has been to improve local biodiversity by increasing the variety of  nut and berry bearing trees available to wildlife living, feeding and sheltering on the embankments.

Join us!  Dress for the day- firm walking shoes, thick trousers and  wear layers  with a lightweight jacket (waterproofs are useful!) The site is over 18s only please ( Network Rail rules) and there will be a health and safety talk before the tree planting starts.
