The Ninth Annual Met Christmas Tree appeal has opened…virtually! Last year the campaign received 22,000 presents which were delivered ready for Christmas morning.
This year, due to Covid-19, the police are taking a different approach to help keep everyone safe while still making sure children who may otherwise not receive a gift, have something to open for Christmas.
As such, the appeal has become completely virtual with all presents needing to be purchased in an online store.
Monetary donations can also be made via the same link, and the money raised will also be used to purchase further presents.
All donations must be made by 16 December. The children receiving these special gifts are currently being cared for by foster parents, in residential care homes, in refuges, in hospitals, or are children from low-income families.
