Appeal: Household Items for Refugees

If you are currently giving away household
goods of any kind:

– TV’s, white goods, phones/laptops/ tablets

There are refugees and people without
recourse to public funds living in Lewisham area who are most deserving beneficiaries.

Local man Lawrence Smith works with the Refugee Solidarity SE, the Jericho Project, Pie ‘n Mash /The Field Mutual Aid and he has a unit at Place Ladywell ( the colourful building next to the fire station) provided by Lewisham Council where items are
stored for distribution.

So if you are planning to give things away, please keep in mind those in our community who have few possessions
and limited support.
Thank you

Lawrence is happy to collect items or to arrange collection, either using volunteer vehicles or those kindly provided to them by
Zipcar UK

*UPDATE. Lawrence has now started making collections…with beneficiaries that will include a refugee camp down in Calais, along with some refugee and homeless organisations much closer to home within Lewisham. If you’ve messaged and we’ve confirmed a need, then we hope to collect within the next 2-3 days.

****23/07 UPDATE. If you’ve offered larger items, they are hoping to get a volunteer van driver in place soon. Smaller items have already begun to be collected.) Thanks for your patience.
