Funding for Community Projects using Solar Energy

Cleaner energy

To help cut pollution, the Mayor of London is supporting projects to use local, cleaner energy and has announced:

Licence Lite – a new energy licence so the Mayor can buy local cleaner energy to power the TfL network.

Expanding TfL’s Solar Power – Transport for London will install more solar panels and energy efficiency measures across its buildings.

Decentralised Energy Enabling Project – Supporting boroughs and the private sector to build more heat networks.

The Mayor is also supporting community energy groups to develop solar projects through the Community Energy Fund, and will also be launching a collective solar purchasing scheme, working with boroughs to bulk-buy solar panels and sell them to Londoners at a cheaper price.
