Age Exchange – New Day Care Service for people with dementia & carers

Age Exchange is welcoming people with dementia and their family carers to participate in Age Exchange’s new project, which provides group sessions in 2 centres (Blackheath and Lewisham) and 1-1 support for those who have difficulty leaving their homes.
The award of £468,000 from the Big Lottery Fund will enable Age Exchange  to provide support for those who live in the boroughs of Lewisham, Greenwich and Southwark, through innovative Reminiscence Arts Intervention.

The activity programme is based on a successful, evidence-based model (RADIQL™) to maintain the health and wellbeing of the participant*, and support the carer at the same time, creating an environment to engage in meaningful, sensory activity; music, movement, craft, and group and individual reminiscence. The service is free.
