Katie Irving is a Lee local and starting up an ‘eat local’ food project. the Lee Green Food Assembly aims to connect our area to its most local food suppliers, and provide an easy, convenient way for people to buy local, fresh, seasonal produce.
Set up by Lee resident Katie Irving, the Assembly will enable access to a wider range of local producers, from vegetable farmers and bakers to fishmongers, dairy farmers and jam-makers.
Each food producer has put up a range of their fresh, seasonal and homemade produce on Lee Food Assembly’s website, and starting Friday 23rd September you will be able to order from the website a week ahead of a regular Thursday collection which will take place in the ‘Home Cafe’ on Lee High Road.
Collection day is also an opportunity to meet local food producers, get close to where their food comes from, and support local food!
The first collection, and launch of the assembly, is Thursday 29th September.
