Exhibitions and Workshops from Arachne Press

Local Publishers Arachne Press have announced a full events schedule for September.
There are exhibitions and workshops for writers – all happening locally.


Outcome Launch Information. Arachne Press are launching an exhibition at the Heritage Gallery at Queen Anne Court, University Greenwich at the  Royal Naval College.

The exhibition will be open Monday 10th October 10-4, and Tuesday 11th (Coming Out Day) to Friday 14th 10-5. Everybody welcome. The launch party is invitation only so contact Cherry to be included on the guest list.

The Arachne Press workshops for writers funded by the Arts Council.  Places are going fast, BOOK quickly especially for the earlier ones. These are held at either The Albany in Deptford or at Canada Water Culture Space. There is only one of each course. Lots more information on the book now button.

You have until 31st August to send us your SHORTEST DAY story or poem, or piece of music. (We’d really like more stories – it is on Short Story Day – and more music) via Submittable DEAF WRITERS YOU CAN SUBMIT BY BSL VIDEO IF YOU WANT.
You can now book for Lester Simpson’s Folk Song Workshop on 26th November – our Solstice ‘Advent’ event! 12.45-5.15 £25
Come and learn around 5 acapella songs in 3 or 4 part harmony, wiht access to sound files after the event.
If you came to Lester’s workshop last year (and even if you didn’t) and would like to sing some of THOSE songs at the Solstice Shorts event on 21st December,  you are invited to a taster session with Vocal Chords Choir who are singing them,on Monday 26th September to decide if you’d like to join the choir for a term to get the songs up to performance standard. VC are also wassailing their way round bits of South London earlier in December so plenty of opportunity to sing loudly in public. Get in touch for more details.
