The Greening of Hither Green Continues…

The Hither Green Community Association has been planting more shrubs at the  Station to encourage wildlife.

They will spend their first two years in their protective plastic collars. Eventually they will provide food and shelter for our wildlife, and great colour and seasonal interest- blossom in the spring and berries and changing leaves in the autumn.

If you want FREE shrubs or tree saplings for your school, street or community space – contact The Woodland Trust. Information below.

However, if you can’t wait until the autumn for your next batch of trees, you’ll find a range of tree packs and different tree protection available to buy from our online shop.

Need trees for Your School? Don’t worry if you didn’t request quite enough free trees for your project. We’ve got 4,500 more packs available for delivery in November 2015. Medium and large packs will also include spiral guards and canes, which will help to protect your young trees. Don’t forget that you can apply for a free pack of poppy seeds too!

Once again, thank you for helping towards our mission of creating a UK rich in woods and trees. We can’t wait to hear about your planting event, but if you have any additional questions or queries, please email

Kind regards,

The Woodland Trust
