
The Church of the Good Shepherd in Lee has got a new Shepherd – and her name is Bridget!
The Rev Bridget Shepherd has become the new vicar at Church of the Good Shepherd in Handen Road in the centre of the bustling southeast London community.

Bridget, 38, grew up in Bristol, but has been in London for almost 20 years. She worked in youth ministry with stints at Greenwich Youth for Christ, Blackheath Bluecoat School and St. John’s Church, Blackheath. After getting ordained in 2008, she became curate and then associate vicar in Emmanuel Church, South Croydon.
Her new appointment means that Lee is actually getting two church leaders – for the price of one.
Her husband Nick is chief executive officer of the Institute for Children Youth and Mission, an organisation that trains and supports people in mission and ministry with children and young people. The 43-year-old Yorkshireman is is licensed as a church Reader and regularly preaches and leads services and Sunday school. He enjoys coffee, reading, collecting beer bottles and choral evensong.
Bridget lists her hobbies as books, films, cake, creative projects and being outside.
