Make a Hither Green Meadow!

Make a Meadow is a new project from the Hither Green  Community Association, FUSS and the HG Nature Triangle team, it will transform the Staplehurst Road entrance to Hither Green  Station. The hope is to encourage  local wildlife including bees and butterflies.

We are putting together a team to carry  out the project.

Sign up here to be added to the volunteer mailing list.

Tasks:  cutting back  weeds, preparing the  area by giving it a good raking, and then sowing a colourful seed mix. There will be some much needed litter picking too.

There will be a full Health and Safety briefing and all equipment including safety boots will be provided.  There will be refreshments and lunch as well.

The project starts on Saturday 20 September, with another couple of sessions happening in November and February 2015.

Supporters: The Make a Meadow project is supported by the Kew Gardens ‘Grow Wild’ scheme and the Friends of the Earth ‘BeeCause’.  And a big thank you to Network Rail and South Eastern Railways.
