Gareth Newton-Williams – Chair
I live in Hither Green with my wife Nicole and our three daughters. We moved to the area in October 2010. I enjoy community and volunteering work. I’m a Change Manager by trade while during the evening I run a small web design business and a blog or two. I have enjoyed contributing to the HGCA website and participating in our projects and activities.
Born and educated in Buenos Aires, am also bilingual in English and Spanish and visit Argentina every other year. For many years I worked for the University of London primarily with students and organised on a yearly basis an award ceremony recognising students who excelled themselves in a society, a sport or performed outstanding work for the University of London Union. I was previously employed at the Royal Free Hospital for the British Regional Heart Study, a research study into cardiovascular risk factors in middle aged men in England, Scotland and Wales. I have lived in Hither Green for the past 14 years having moved here from north London where I lived for many years. I have a son who lives in north London. My interests include the arts, Roman history, gardening and keeping fit. Have travelled extensively from a very young age and have covered many countries since then. I joined HGCA Committee last year.
Born and educated in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I am fluent in both English and Spanish. Married with 2 sons and 3 grandchildren. Have lived in Hither Green for nearly 25 years. Have run a successful Soft Furnishings business for 30 years and am still working from home. Gardening and plants is very much an interest as well. I love music and the theatre. I am also very sporty and my activities include keeping myself fit at a health club and swimming. We travel whenever possible and enjoy skiing and scuba diving. We return to Argentina once a year where horse riding is an activity I love. I have previously been Treasurer for HGCA for two years and have been on the committee since it began.
