Creative voices: Spoken Word

This 8 weeks project invites you to play with words like you’ve never played before, developing your own authentic speaking voice. How do you see the world and how does it feel to be you? And how might this smash through the judgements others might make of you?Led by Create writer Tim Cowbury, you will look at interesting texts and performance clips then develop your own ideas into independent and group spoken word pieces. You’ll try out solo performance poetry and poetic monologues, shared storytelling (speaking in chorus), blending fact and fiction to write and speak the world according to you. Booking is required.

The training will take place at Carers Lewisham (Forest Hill), 1-4pm on the following Fridays:

  • 16th & 23th February 2018
  • 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd March 20182
