UPDATE: The GLA awarded Lewisham Council £18,000 of funding towards the replacement of Street Trees in the Borough- this represents an additional 75 trees.
There are over 200 empty tree pits in Hither Green alone and largely due to the efforts of Justin Hannemann ( HitherGreentrees.com) we have been prioritised for an allocation of the new trees- assuming local residents are interested in watering them.

So does YOUR road need a new street tree? Vote today!
Justin has marked the empty tree pits on the map link below.

The tree pits with the most registered votes will be chosen for planting.

If your road misses out: Private tree sponsorship costs £240. Residents on one local road have already clubbed together to buy a collection of street trees.

Background: Since 2013, Lewisham has lost 2,000 street trees due to old age, disease, vandalism, storms and careless driving; they have not been replaced due to reduced Council funding. Hither Green has lost over 200 trees since 2013 and the number is growing.
You can help reverse this tragic trend by getting involved!
