Volunteers from the Hither Green Community Association and Fuss at Hither Green are working with award-winning landscape designersStreetscape, to create a gloriously colourful wildflower meadow here at Hither Green Station. From Spring 2016 this scrubby embankment will be transformed into a bright, pollen-rich, insect friendly habitat to encourage butterflies and bees.
The slopes have been planted with 1000 English bluebells and the flat areas have been sown with a specially chosen mix of wildflowers to provide months of colour, food and shelter for local wildlife. The floral display will only improve over the next few years as plants establish themselves and self-seed, so please bear with us this winter while the soil is brown and bare! We hope you enjoy the transformation! ~Hither Green Community Association and Fuss at Hither Green
