The 2015 Metropolitan Police Commissioner launches Christmas Tree Appeal.
The campaign works to ensure that thousands of children in care across the capital receive a special Christmas present.
Police stations in all 32 London boroughs will be collecting gifts for children in residential homes and foster care. Lewisham Police are promoting their campaign on Thursday 10 December by holding a carol concert in front of their station. They will be joined by Lewisham NHS Choir, St Stephen’s School Choir, and the Lewisham Concert Band.
“A child in need can be helped by a simple gift from someone they have never met.”
Lewisham residents are being encouraged to bring along a gift. Gift tags are available from Lewisham Station- please follow the instructions on the tag.
The gifts will be for children aged from one week to 17 years. The suggested spend for gifts this year is no more than £20. All gifts will be delivered to the children at their care homes before Christmas Day.
