Lewisham Youth Theatre Seeks Placements/Volunteers for a Promenade Theatrical Event

If you would like to develop skills in technical theatre, stage management and outdoor events, get in touch with LYT to support their  upcoming production Catford Tales in July 2015

Overview:  Volunteer placements with LYT offer opportunities to get hands on experience in a fast paced environment with the support of a professional production team. Volunteers on Catford Tales will have the opportunity to work with outdoor visual arts specialists Emergency Exit Arts and designer Patrick Bullock.

Roles Available:

Assistant Stage Managers and Technicians: Assistant Stage Managers will support the professional Stage Manager in preparing for and managing the smooth running of the production. As a promenade performance, Catford Tales will be performed across 10 separate venues. ASMs/Technicians will be expected to run the technical aspects of the venue to which they are assigned.

Placement Dates:

  • 13th – 25th July, including 3 x performances on 24th & 25th July

Design Assistants (Costumes and Set):

As part of the production team, Design Assistants will work closely with Production Designer Patrick Bullock to research, design and build set, costumes and props. This is an exciting opportunity to get hands-on experience in a range of design elements, including sourcing, costume/set build, painting and multi-media.

Placement Dates:

  • 13th – 25th July, including 3 x performances on 24th & 25th July
  • Production meetings leading up to July period
  • Potential of 2-3 making days in end-June/Beg-July

Audience Stewards:

Audience Stewards will be responsible for supporting audience groups along the performance routes.

Placement Dates:

  • 17th July – Training Day
  • 22nd – 25th July – Technical Rehearsals and Performance
