Spruce Up Your Sprouts with Lee Greens!


Lee Greens is a new local veg box scheme. They have a great recipe in case you’re looking for ways to spruce up your Christmas  sprout.

Sticky Sprouts! 

Ingredients (serves 8): Method:
2 tbsp olive oil
10 shallots, sliced
Pinch of caster sugar
100g raisins
4 tbsp red wine or sherry vinegar
1 kg lovely Brussels sprouts, trimmed
Handful of flaked almonds, toastedLeeGreensRecipe@LeeGreens.com
  • Heat the oil in a large frying pan and cook the shallots for 5 mins until they start to colour. Sprinkle over the sugar and stir in with the raisins and vinegar. Simmer away for 5 mins, then set aside
  • Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil and add the sprouts. Cook for 5 mins, drain well, add to the shallot pan and mix everything together. Add the flaked almonds when serving
