Manor House Gardens AGM

Date: Tuesday 25th November

Time: 7.30pm

Location: Manor House Library, Old Road SE12

We know that local people love Manor House Gardens.

After 15 years of investment and improvement, Manor House Gardens is in good shape. However, it is at risk of slipping back into decline, as it did in the 1980’s and 1990’s.

Over the next 3 years parks maintenance budgets will be reduced further. This is on top of the deep cuts that have already been made in the last 3 years. Static park keepers and gardeners are next in line, with local knowledge and skills lost and this will have a direct impact on safety.

Our calls to action include:

  • Renewed commitment from Lewisham council
  • Establishing new partnerships with other user groups
  • Getting our community more involved
  • Developing new finance models and rethinking delivery

Together we can avert this return to the past but it will require the concerted effort of all those who use, live near or have an interest in Manor House Gardens.

Help Manor House Gardens Raise Funds!

Mugs for Sale: “I love Manor House Gardens” £5.

Membership: Joining the Friends Group- £10 for the year (£5 concessions)

Benefits include 10% off food and drink all year at Pistachios in the Park.

Take care everyone and I hope to see you at the AGM. Please spread the word.

We are thinking of running a Photography competition.  Will any of you volunteer to run it for us? We try to bring in as many of the community as we can to help with specific projects. We would be really grateful for a volunteer for this one. Please contact us!
