4 October: Take an African safari trip at Downham Library

4 October: London African Gospel Choir The Broadway Theatre. An evening of African gospel music and dance. 7.30pm to 10.30pm

7 October: Poetry and Inspiration  Torridon Road Library 6.30pm to 8.15pm. Join Sandra Agard, Torridon Writers and The Inspired Word team for poetry reflections.

Manor House Library 2.30pm to 3.30pmRenowned historian, S.I. Martin speaks about the local black history of the Lee neighbourhood and touches on aspects of his recent research work and use of resources held in places which can be visited locally.

16 October- Children’s stories from Africa and the Caribbean.Torridon Road Library  11am to 11.30am

20 October: Pilots of the Caribbean Mark Johnson and S.I. Martin

Manor House Library  7.15pm to 8.30pm. Mark Johnson, author of ‘Caribbean Volunteers at War’, together with S.I. Martin tell the story of black RAF volunteers from the Caribbean, Africa and from Britain during the First and Second World Wars.
