A Better Lee Green: Leegate Redevelopement

A Better Lee Green

Who We Are:

A new residents group, A Better Lee Green, has been set up to campaign for a more community-friendly Lee Green town centre. Its priorities are:

  • concern about current development plans for the central Leegate site where a second large supermarket within a confined area will leave little room for public space, alternative shopping, leisure or public amenities
  • serious concern that this proposal will lead to a further big increase in pollution and congestion
  • to promote development solutions in line with planning policies and robust pubic consultation to address the needs of the community for more public space, appropriate retail, cultural and leisure facilities
  • to encourage Lewisham Council to use its powers to achieve a better solution for the Lee Green community

 Contact/Join:

The group is  open to ideas and discussions and welcomes everyone. Share thoughts, join the mailing list or get involved:

I am not on Twitter, but would like to support your campaign- especially to support small businesses in the area. I DO NOT WANT an Asda !!. Is there anyway a Co-op Store could be included instead? There are none in the immediate area and this would complement the existing shops without dominating and probably not increase the traffic so much. Best of luck .
